We won the Knight Foundation's Lifetime Achievement Award!
Last week in NYC, we received a Lifetime Achievement Award for our contributions to videogame-based journalism. We are very proud and grateful for this award.
Newsgaming.com was a project that we started in 2003 with what became our first viral game hit: September 12th, a Toy World. This controversial game about the war on terror was played by millions of people and received media attention from all over the world.
Powerful Robot had just started and, because the game at the moment dealt with hot political issues, we decided not to publish it under our brand. That's why we formed the Newsgaming team (we even coined the term newsgame to describe our combination of news and videogames).
September 12th was one of our very first projects and we're happy to see that it's doing well after so many years of being developed.
